It was developed by nineteenth-century Indologists,   and was highly influential in the understanding of Hinduism, both in the west and in India. They are the pioneer researchers in the realm of the spirit who saw more in the world than their followers.

The worshippers of the absolute are of the highest rank; second to them are the worshippers of the personal God; then come the worshippers of the incarnations of Rama, Krishna, Buddha; below them are those who worship deities, ancestors, and sages, and lowest of all are the worshippers of petty forces and spirits. He has his early education at Tiruchani. He did his Intermediate F. While studying at the Christian College, he came under the influence of the Bible but he could never tolerate criticism on Hindu Religion and culture. He analyzed the truths in both the Hindu Religion and the Christian religions and was convinced that truth is the same in all religions.
Hence his interest in Indian philosophy, religion and culture grew more and more. He was a very intelligent and brilliant student and had keen interest in studies right from the beginning; consequently he got scholarships at various stages of his student life. In he wrote a paper, Moral Principles of Vedanta. After securing his Masters degree in philosophy he was appointed first as Assistant Professor and later as Professor of Philosophy in the Presidency College, Madras.
During this time he read thoroughly the Upanishads, Vedanta, the Bhagwat Geeta and books on Buddhism and widened his knowledge on these subjects. He also read Western Philosophy of Plato, Plutinus and many other eminent philosophers. He was also a great freedom fighter. He had a deep love for the profession of teaching. He spoke on Vendanta, Hinduism and Buddhism with equal mastery and command. According to several modern interpretators, especially Radakrishnan, Shankara emphasises the role of personal experience anubhava in ascertaining the validity of knowledge. Finally, he passed away on April 17, and the whole of India was drowned in a sea of gloom and mourning.
As an intellectual being, all through out his life he preached for an awareness of the finer values of the life of humanity and realisation of such values in a non-permanent world. He was made Head of Sahitya Academy, Delhi. Here again he served this great institution of learning with much distinction. He added new dignity, dimension and brilliance to the high office of the President of India by his so deep and wide knowledge, wisdom and towering personality.
